By the time November 2010 rolls around, we could all be residing on the moon, eating space cheese, and zipping around with solar powered jet packs. In the event that doesn’t happen though, we might still have Microsoft’s Project Natal to look forward too.
According to an MCV unnamed source, the motion sensing camera that turns your body into the gaming controller is rumored to have five million units ready for a November 2010 release with fourteen games at launch and a price point of $50 to $80 bucks.
Considering what the device does, this more than reasonable price range should all but ensure insanely high sales numbers — which, according to at least one unnamed publisher, is exactly what Microsoft wants:
“[Microsoft is] trying to get as close as possible to impulse buy”
It’s important to remember that while the information above supposedly comes from a behind-closed-doors conversation with unnamed sources close to the project, it is far from being an official Microsoft confirmation. In other words, treat it as a rumor, and resume daydreaming about your future life on the moon.
